About Me

About Me

David Weiser

If you're reading this, then chances are you'd like to get to know more about the writer of these reviews.

Well, I'm David Weiser (a.k.a. the nerd smiling his teeth off in the image above). Some of you know me personally, some don't. This is the internet, so odds are split in that regard.

For those that don't know me, I recently graduated from the C.T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston. I'd like to find a way to combine my appreciation of film and fascination with marketing and carve out a career marketing for a film studio.

My favorite films include Star Wars: The Last Jedi, La La Land, The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future, and Jurassic Park. Those aren't all of them obviously, but a few off the top of the noggin.

I started this blog in 2014 because I was considering journalism as a career path at the time and wanted to experiment with film criticism. If you go back and read my early reviews, you'll quickly see how much my writing style has changed.

I started as a novice writer. I knew I liked film, but I never truly understood why. I had simple-minded opinions and didn't truly understand the complexity of this visual medium.

As I watched more film, read other reviews, and began writing my own, it all started to fall into place. Film was an art form that enabled filmmakers to express elaborate ideas, emotions, and messages. There was more to it than simply entertainment value. While that's certainly a vital part of the process, it's the underlying ideas that drive everything forward.

I's like to end this brief bio by thanking all my readers for bothering to stop what they were doing, read a review, and for encouraging me along the way. It truly means the world!

Stay awesome!

- David Weiser, 8/09/19.
